Review:
Jr and crew are in a much heavier style than on some of their earlier work — not exactly the funk that the title implies, but with plenty of large production and fuzzy guitars, in the mode that Motown was adopting a lot in the years after the Temps broke the style. A number of cuts have vocals in addition to Jr’s tenor — and titles include “Right On Brothers & Sisters”, “Way Back Home”, “Feeling Alright”, “Psychedelic Shack”, “Pieces Of A Man”, and “Teach Them To Pray”.
