Crown Heights Affair ''You Don't Have To Say You Love Me'' 7''

Well I have been trawling through my files and came across this gem and thought I would share it You Don't Have To Say You Love Me.I purchased a lot of vinyl in 1979 but cannot think of a better album every track a winner,it brings back memories of Soul Nights at The Ilford Town Hall with our never to be forgotten friend DJ Froggy R.I.P.
I was searching online for the album cover and was pleasantly surprised that one of our blogger friends has it online here
This is the 7"mix the album version is 2 minutes longer.
Now I'm back in the groove I might just do a little set for MFS Radio!

Gloria Walker

''My Precious Love / Papa's Got The Wagon'' 7''

Catalog # P2504

Tracklisting:
A My Precious Love
B Papa's Got The Wagon

Credits:
Producer - Bobby Smith

Notes:
Format:Vinyl, 7"
Country:US
Released:1971

Review:
A very obscure single on People! The track wasn't produced by James Brown, but "Papa's Got The Wagon" has an excellent funky sound – with great raw vocals by Gloria in the tradition of Marva Whitney or Vicki Anderson! The cut was written by Juggy Murray, and done in other versions – but this is our favorite! The flipside is great, too – and is a very nice mellow soul track.

Bobby Byrd Featuring The J.B.’s

”Doing The Do”

Tracklisting:
”Doing The Do”
(7:13)

Note:
Remastered by JP, 2008

Short Biography:
Real Name: Robert Howard Byrd
b. 15th Aug, 1934, South Carolina, U.S.A.
d. 12th Sep, 2007, Georgia, U.S.A.
Husband of Vicki Anderson. Long time collaborator with James Brown and one of the founders of The Famous Flames. It was actually Byrd who took James Brown into the band and together they made history with a string of hits up to the 1970s. Later he would join Brown again with vocals on several recordings like “Sex Machine”, “Talkin’ Loud & Saying Nothin’ and “Get Up, Get Into It, Get Involved”. He would also go on and record solo hits of his own. Notably his “I Know You Got Soul” scored big around the U.S.
Bobby Byrd had a hard time dealing with cancer for some time and sadly he passed away on September 12th 2007 in his home in Georgia. He was 73 years old.
