Review:
That’s “fource”, not “force” — so don’t get these guys mixed up with the bigger soul act of the time — because Full Fource have a groove that’s a lot more soulful overall, inflected with some great funky club touches throughout! The combo hails from California, and the style here is definitely in a boogie mode, but also has a strong influence from some of the bigger west coast funk at the end of the 70s — particularly the Solar Records crowd. But there’s also some sweeter moments too — great little vocal parts that almost take us back to east coast group soul of the mid 70s — served up here with a really great sense of warmth. Production is great throughout — very top-shelf, despite the indie nature of the album — and titles include “Funky Way”, “I Know You Can”, “Brok Your Face (parts 1 & 2)”, “Sexy Lady”, and “A Song Within”.
