Review:
I’d Rather Suck My Thumb is more Blues based than his other Impulse releases from this time period. Brown finally steps into the Funk with the third cut Eighteen Pounds Of Unclean Chitlings that’s a low-key and long jam. Next up is a decent cover of Sam & Dave’s You Got Me Hummin. Even better is a version of Do Your Thing/It’s Your Thing.
