Review:
Hard, raw, righeous group funk one of the hardest-hitting early albums ever produced by Patrick Adams! The set’s got a feel that’s much more like the Detroit work on the Westbound label than other records on the Today label no surprise, given that group leader Mudbone later worked with Bootsy Collins in The Rubber Band! The style here is a bit more freewheeling than P-Funk, though really jamming at times, with raw guitar, wild horn parts, and long tracks that blend together bits of funk, rock, and electric jazz! Titles include the break-heavy suite “Last Apocalypse”, plus “Nixon’s Ego Trip”, “Great Debate”, “Get Some Of This”, and “Serve ‘Em”.
